African Descent

With inspiration from Kente cloth, a fabric made by interweaving colorful silk and cotton cloth strips, which is a tradition native to the Akan tribe in Ghana, I constructed the image above. This image is composed of several different shapes and colors put together to create a harmonious and balanced artwork. I enjoyed making this project because I went to an African centered high school where we wore dashikis as our uniform, and this reminded me of them with all the different designs and colors within it.
